Summer fun in February

The sun glistens and light sparkles on top of the ocean's surface.  You can feel the suns rays on the tip of your nose.  Beautiful summer day...but wait we are in February.  One of the perks of living in South Florida is the amazing weather.  When else can you enjoy the perfect summer day filled with sea gulls flying overhead and the sound of splashing water in the middle of winter?

The day was also perfect to take pictures.  This was a great session filled with love, children, family and fun.  Here are a few shots from the day.

Hugs and Kisses

Jordyn has always had an open heart when it comes to Lucas.  She doesn't usually spread hugs and  kisses with the other children but when she sees Lucas she comes alive and her love knows no boundaries. (cute) I once counted 25 kisses and 8 hugs in a 30 minute span!!!

This is my submission for this week's Iheart Photo Challenge -  Hugs and Kisses.  Check out their website.  They have some amazing photos.  www.iheartfaces.com

On the edge

It is a typical South Florida day.  The weather channel predicts 60% chance of rain all day.  Why does this always happen to me?   It is gloomy outside and you can see the black clouds slowly taking over the sky.   These are the days that I wish the "rain, rain go away" song would actually work !  I worry about the weather these days as it is an essential part of taking pictures.

Today was different though, I was determined and decided that the rain would not keep me away.  Of course I was totally prepared to drive 45 minutes to Key Biscayne only to watch the rain come down my windshield and have to turn away.  Vivian was determined as well (either that or she's as crazy as I am to go along with my ideas).  We opted not to go to the makeup artist and instead I did her makeup for her......all arrows pointed to a total washout.

To our surprise when we arrived it was a beautiful day.  Not to sunny, a bit overcast and lots of friendly (weird) people around who made the day all the more colorful.
